Fellows-Elect

There are Tony Patiño Fellows-Elects at three law schools:  Hastings College of the Law, Columbia Law School, and The University of Chicago Law School.  Upon graduation from law school, and with the approval of the Renewal Committe, each Fellow-Elect will be designated a "Tony Patiño Fellow".

HASTINGS COLLEGE OF THE LAW

 

 

 

Jamie Ryker (Hastings 2009)

Jamie is a Tony Patiño Fellow-Elect from Hastings College of the Law with an anticipated graduation date of 2009. 

At Hastings, Jamie is involved in the Hastings Public Interest Law Foundation, Hastings Homeless Legal Services, and the Ballroom Dance Club. 

Jamie graduated from the University of California at San Diego in 2005 with a B.A. degree, where she earned Provost’s honors for several semesters. 

 

 

Negin Yamini (Hastings 2010)

Negin is a Tony Patiño Fellow-Elect from Hastings College of the Law with an anticipated graduation date of 2010. 

Negin graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles in 2006 with a B.A. in Hebrew Language.  At UCLA, Negin received the Merage American Dream Fellowship, and was a UCLA Freshman Alumni Scholar.

Gordana Ivanovic (Columbia 2008)

Gordana is a Tony Patiño Fellow-Elect from Columbia Law School with an anticipated graduation date of 2008. 

Gordana is the Articles Editor for the Columbia Journal of Eastern European Law.  She previously attended the University of Belgrade, School of Law. 

 

 

 

Edgar A. Morales (Columbia 2009)

Edgar is a Tony Patiño Fellow-Elect from Columbia Law School with an anticipated graduation date of 2009. 

Edgar is a Harlan Fiske Stone Schloar, and a member of the Columbia Business Law Review. 

In 2006, Edgar obtained a M.P.P. in Trade and Finance from Harvard University.  Edgar graduated in 2004 with a B.A. in Government from the University of Texas in Austin. 

 

 

 

Nazneen Mehta (Columbia 2010)

Nazneen is a Tony Patiño Fellow-Elect from Columbia Law School with an anticipated graduation date of 2010. 

At Columbia, Nazneen is involved as a courtroom advocate for the Domestic Violence Project, and is a member of the Journal of Gender & Law.  This summer, Nazneen will be interning in The Hague for the Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal Court for the former Yugoslavia. 

Nazneen obtained her B.A. in Political Science from Yale University in 2006, where she received the Georg Walter Leitner Fellowship in International Political Economy.  

 

 

 

THE UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO LAW SCHOOL

 

 

 

Nathan Christensen (Chicago 2008)

Nathan is a Tony Patiño Fellow-Elect from The University of Chicago Law School with an anticipated graduation date of 2008. 

At Chicago, Nathan is currently the Comment Editor of the University of Chicago Law Review.  He is also a Sonnenschein Scholar and John M. Olin Fellow.  Following graduation, Nathan will be a clerk for the Honorable Richard Posner of the U.S. 7th Circuit Court of Appeal. 

Nathan obtained his B.A. in Public Policy from Stanford University in 2001. At Stanford, Nathan was a Treat Fellow and won the Robyn R. Noll Senior Thesis Award. 

 

 

 

Grisel Ruiz (Chicago 2009)

Grisel is a Tony Patiño Fellow-Elect from The University of Chicago Law School with an anticipated graduation date of 2009. 

Grisel is involved in a number of activities, including the Mandel Legal Clinic (Police Accountability and Civil Rights Project), the ACLU Club as Vice President, the Public Interest Law Society as a Board Member, and the Latino Law Students Association as Secretary.  Grisel also works as a research assistant to Professor Michel Goodwin, and serves as a mentor in the Undergraduate Office of Multicultural Services.  In addition to being a Tony Patiño Fellow-Elect, Grisel is the receipient of the Michael F. O’Donnell Memorial Law Scholarship.

Prior to Chicago, Grisel received her B.A. as a dual Political Science and Spanish major in 2005 from the University of Notre Dame. 

 

 

 

Karen Bradshaw (Chicago 2010)

Karen is a Tony Patiño Fellow-Elect from The University of Chicago Law School with an anticipated graduation date of 2010. 

Karen is a Colby and Demitro Scholar, and is active in the campus community as a research assistant, and in campus bible study. 

Prior to law school, Karen obtained her M.B.A. from California State University Chico in 2006, and B.S. in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley in 2004.  At Berkeley, Karen was a Regent's and Chancellor’s Scholar, and an Alumni Scholar.
